Anita's portrait.jpg

“Design makes me tick and good or bad, I see it in almost everything. Be it mechanics or marmalade, it’s the fine tolerances of quality and aesthetic that can make something ordinary extraordinary.”

Anita’s first memory of creating an object was age 5, when she crafted a very clever ‘working camera’ from blocks of wood - many pictures were taken though sadly the film was unable to be developed. Nevertheless, she’d discovered her love of making. However, it was some years later while studying to be a wool-classer, that Anita met her true medium - metal.

Drawing inspiration from otherworldly realms, Anita weaves her musings with notions of tradition to craft ethereal works of wearable art. Otherwise known as jewellery, these emotive timeless treasures enchant each new custodian as they make their way through this world. ‘I really want each piece I create to spark joy and resonate with someone who’ll infuse their own magic within it.’

Anita has a meticulous eye for observing the natural world which informs her ‘useful object’ designs. As she quietly entertains in metal, Anita’s acclaims include winning the Inaugural Alessi + Vogue Living Design Award, Gold in the New York City Design Prize, the Tasmanian Design Award and the People’s Choice Award. Her work has been exhibited internationally and her talent celebrated in publications including The Age / SMH Good Weekend magazine, The Financial Review magazine, Australian Country Style, Vogue Living Australia and Vanity Fair UK.
